On May 3, 2023, Minister Bibeau announced that the federal government will once again provide funding to support the review of the Canadian Organic Standards, which are due for renewal in 2025.
The Canadian Organic Standards must be reviewed and amended every five years to clarify any pieces that were causing confusion, to take into account submissions received from industry and organic stakeholders, to ensure standards compliance with Canada’s organic trading partners, and to ensure the standards remain up to date with the latest research and technologies.
In order to prepare the review, the Organic Federation of Canada (OFC) invites all organic stakeholders to submit requests for modifications to the Canadian Organic Standards! Learn more and submit your requests (with handy templates) on the OFC website.
