2025 BC Organic Conference Virtual Keynote: Paul Holmbeck

At the 2025 BC Organic Conference, we delighted to welcome keynote speaker Paul Holmbeck, who joined us virtually from Denmark!

We first learned about Paul’s work at the Organic Summit in Ottawa in 2023. We were inspired by his keynote address, learning how the Danish organic model helped Denmark become world-renowned for its organic products, increasing the sale of organic goods to the state, the private sector, and Danish consumers year over year.

And a little bit about Paul:

Paul is an emblematic figure of Europe’s organic movement who spent more than 20 years as director of Organic Denmark. He advises leaders in government, business, and organizations around the world who want to develop organic policy and market partnerships that can upscale organic and agroecological farming and grow markets for organic food.

He also sits on the world board of IFOAM – Organics International. And, the Canada Organic Alliance (the partnership between the Canada Organic Trade Association, Canadian Organic Growers, and the Organic Federation of Canada), worked closely with Paul to develop Canada’s Organic Action Plan.
