IFOAM North America works to educate the general public, provide a forum to exchange ideas, and engage in North American-specific activities to advance organic agriculture and its principles.

These activities are carried out in partnership with IFOAM – Organics International and the global organic community. IFOAM North America endeavors to advance the Landmarks of Organic Agriculture, which include the Principles of Organic Agriculture and Organic 3.0.

Summary of Contract Position

The coordinator will establish and maintain the IFOAM-NA web site, communications platforms, and shared workspace to facilitate members’ and Board of Directors’ work to broaden awareness of IFOAM – Organics International mission, standards, and programs.

Website
  • Manage menus, hierarchies, and contact pages on a new WordPress website.
  • Maintain a current list in Excel of the URLs with short headings to facilitate cross posting and site organization.
  • Monitor and manage incoming contacts from web forms and email daily.
  • Create area on website containing topical sections reflecting IFOAM Intl content and upload all content.
  • Identify each area of the website for which new content is required. Maintain a list of suggested articles, posts or blogs by topic. Share this list with BOD and other members weekly to request content and track submissions.
  • Establish simple workflow where content is approved by authorized board member prior to posting.
  • Curate royalty-free and commons-licensed images and video from various sources, including members, with associated ADA tagging and credits.
External Communications
  • Maintain and monitor social media accounts.
  • Amplify posts of members and affiliated groups. Write and solicit current content from BOD and members.
  • Compile key items of interest into email newsletter and send to full subscriber list monthly.
  • Maintain schedule and guidelines for content development and delivery using BOD and members as primary content generators.
Organizational Infrastructure
  • Maintain documents on shared workspace to facilitate access and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive workplan to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Attend board and committee meetings as requested to ensure broad understanding of IFOAM mission and strategy.
  • Understand and implement platforms for polling, voting, sharing, etc. to facilitate effective and efficient BOD and member meetings
  • Maintain broad awareness of global organic issues and organizations.
Compensation

$1000 USD for approximately 25 hours per month. Contract for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal.
